The Birmingham Rotary Club is looking forward to hosting you at the 2010 Large Club Conference . We are ready to share our city with you and exchange ideas to keep our clubs vibrant, meaningful and stimulating to our members.
Birmingham , Alabama is proud to claim three Past Presidents of Rotary International . Our heritage in the Rotary World is something that sets us apart and is one aspect we look forward to sharing with you. Our weekly meetings are held in a building that was funded primarily by members of our club and serves as our permanent home, another unique aspect of our Rotary life in Birmingham. You will have some exposure to our building as the second conference day will be held in The Harbert Center – joining the Rotary Club of Birmingham for the luncheon meeting with guest speaker Juan Williams and participating in conference meetings held in the building’s meeting rooms.
Birmingham Past President Bill Jones and our Executive Director Susan Jackson are planning an exceptional agenda of relevant topics to help us manage our clubs effectively and encourage our members to fully enjoy the Rotary experience. Susan has done a wonderful job of running our club the past 12 years. From her years supporting the Large Club Conference she has great ideas about how to make this years conference a worthwhile three day experience.
The Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa provides a unique venue to enjoy our time together. We will have three nights of fellowship and exciting food. The days will be scheduled with topical speakers, interactive opportunities, more fellowship with plenty of time for responding to emails and calls. The Executive Director session will be from 1 – 4 on Sunday afternoon with the first complete conference gathering on Sunday night for a “Sweet Home Alabama” presentation of food and entertainment to set the stage for the conference. That fellowship activity will be followed by a Monday night wine dinner at the signature restaurant, Highlands Bar and Grille, famous for our nationally recognized chef and fellow Rotarian, Frank Stitt. Tuesday night we will have a “Home Dine Around” in Rotarian homes overlooking our city and enjoying a dinner prepared by another nationally recognized local Chef, Chris Hastings.
A preliminary agenda is enclosed to help you plan your travel schedule. We have a Large Club Conference website to help you with registration and additional details about the conference and Birmingham. www.lcc2010.org
We will be very honored to have you in our city and look forward to demonstrating the warmth of our Southern Hospitality as we all facilitate our united commitment to the mission of Rotary.
Please call me at 205 250 8719 if I can help in any way.
Sincerely,

Richard B. Yeilding
